June Run
When: 6-12th June
Where: Cotes D'Armor, France
A total of 29 bravehearts assembled in Brittany for this years June Run.
The weather ranged from warm and sunny to downrite very wet but being the usual suspects we still had a great time.
Organised this year by Peter Fryer with local assistance from Christine Langevin in Tregier region near to the Pink granite coast, the event was most successful.
It enticed Don and Vicki Harrington to fly over from Australia to join us and Paula and Toby flew in from New York State, dusted off the bright yellow 620 they store over here and enjoyed a trouble free event.
In all, eight Hotchkiss, a preware Riley and a vintage Alvis plus a Dagenham Dustbin and two Tokyo tin tops made up the fleet, attracting much attention wherever we went.

Summer Saunter

Where: Chapel Row
On a very hot, humid, and often sunny day, nineteen members and friends met at our usual watering hole, The Blade Bone in Chapel Row, for a get-together and lunch, kindly organised by David and Erica Tipton. The cars – six Hotchkiss and one Alvis – glistened in the sunshine. It was nice to see Michael Edwards’ 1904 car ‘up and about’ again, and especially nice that Tom Roberts, his son Richard, Roger Muirhead and Gareth Morgan could join us. As usual, there was much talking going on, and thirsts were quenched with coffee and pre-lunch drinks. Lunch was greatly enjoyed by everyone, the food was delicious and the service very good.
After lunch – and more talking – the majority of cars made the short journey to Two Hoots, David and Erica’s home, where we were provided with endless cups of tea and, more importantly, were able to partake of Erica’s wonderful cakes. It was so special to be able to sit in the garden and while away the afternoon. All too soon, it was time for goodbyes and the journey home. Our thanks go to David and Erica for arranging the day so efficiently and for providing such wonderful hospitality.

The Dougal Memorial Run
Some 24 members and guests attended this Wiltshire Run, dedicated to our late President, Dougal Farquharson. After coffee at a beautiful house in Great Somerford, we drove through Dauntsey to Bradenstoke, originally a Medieval Settlement, for a fascinating private visit to two 16th century houses, now an enchanting museum. Then onwards to the site of Bradenstoke Priory, founded in 1142. A further short drive brought us to the Foxham Inn where an excellent, lively lunch was enjoyed by all. Fine autumnal weather brought out the best in Michael Edwards’ newly re-commissioned 1912 Black Limousine, which ran beautifully all day. Good fun!
