Past Events in 2005.
Where: Nuffield, Oxfordshire
Twenty five of us made our way to the Waterfront Café on the river at Benson. The weather allowed us to spend a lazy hour appreciating the river frontage, sitting in the sun and chatting to all our friends.
The President’s nine mile route to lunch gave us chance to see the watercress beds at Ewelme before we made our way to the Crown at Nuffield.
Simon Till, the landlord made us most welcome, accommodating us in one room and feeding us well. We then held a photo session for the landlord, before crossing the road to Lord Nuffield’s old home.
I think everyone was surprised at the modest way he lived considering the millions he had given to charity. We were allowed to line up the cars in front of his house.
When: June 2005
The top picture shows most of the cars on the 2005 Scottish Run at rest. Naturally, at a small whiskey distillery.
The bottom pic is a 1929 AM2 Monaco in the grounds of Athol Palace, Pitlockry.
